Leaves

Leaves are an essential aspect of employee benefits, offering time off from work for various reasons. In the context of Ayala Corporation, leaves are categorized and managed through a structured system to ensure both employee welfare and organizational efficiency.

General

*Upon reaching 15 years of service, employees will receive an additional one (1) business day of vacation leave.

Leave Election

Accrual, Deferral and Encashment

In the fourth quarter of each year, employees are requested to submit their vacation leave election, specifying whether they want to accrue, encash, or defer their leaves to the following year. Leave election is allowed provided that the mandatory leave has been utilized.

  • Vacation Leave
    • Accrual: Employees can accumulate up to 50 days, which does not expire and is payable upon separation or retirement.
    • Encashment: Employees may cash out up to 12 days of leave, subject to taxes in excess of 10 days.
    • Deferral: Employees can defer unused leaves, which must be utilized in the first quarter of the following year.

 

  • Sick Leave
    • Accrual: Unused sick leaves are automatically accrued, with a maximum accrual limit of 210 days.
    • Encashment: Employees automatically qualify to encash up to 10 days of sick leave, provided they have an accrued total exceeding 120 days, without the need for any election process.
