Media and External Communications

Ayala Corporation is committed to fostering trust and credibility through clear, accurate, and thoughtful communication with external audiences, including the media. Consistency in messaging helps protect the company’s reputation and strengthens relationships with stakeholders. All external communications and permissions must be coordinated through the Strategic Communications (SC) Team within the Strategic Communications and State Affairs Group to protect the company’s reputation and align messaging with its purpose and values.

Handling Media Inquiries

All media inquiries, whether broadcast, press, or online, including requests for interviews, comments, or company information, must be referred to the SC Team. Employees are not authorized to provide statements or engage with the media on behalf of the company. This ensures that all communications are accurate, consistent, and aligned with Ayala’s official position.

The SC Team manages all media engagements, prepares responses, and coordinates public statements. Media inquiries must be promptly directed to the SC Team to ensure accurate and authorized communication.

Sharing Company Information

Employees are not permitted to share company-related information, whether confidential or general, with any external party or media representative without prior approval from the SC Team. All external communications, including press releases, official statements, and media content, must be reviewed and approved by the SC Team, with final authorization from the Strategic Communications and State Affairs Group Head.

Unauthorized sharing of information, including premature announcements or personal opinions misattributed to the company, may result in disciplinary action.

Representing Ayala in Public

Employees participating in public events, forums, or discussions where Ayala may be referred to are expected to represent the company responsibly. Personal opinions must remain distinct from Ayala’s official views and should not reference Ayala, its principals, or its brands without approval.

Misrepresentation of Ayala’s brand, policies, or official position, whether intentional or inadvertent, is strictly prohibited. For example, while attending a conference, employees may reference Ayala’s publicly shared achievements but must avoid disclosing internal strategies or unpublished data.

Crisis Communication

During crises or high-stakes situations, clear and consistent communication is critical. All media inquiries in such instances must be referred immediately to the SC Team. Only designated spokespersons authorized by the Strategic Communications and State Affairs Group may provide official statements or engage with the media.

The SC Team coordinates closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that messaging reflects the company’s position and addresses the situation effectively. Employees must refrain from making any statements or sharing information about the crisis, including on personal social media accounts, to prevent the spread of misinformation.

Support and Collaboration

The SC Team serves as a resource for effective and compliant external communications. Employees are encouraged to collaborate with the team for guidance on handling media engagements or public representation. This collaboration ensures that all external communications uphold Ayala’s values and standards. For inquiries or assistance, the SC Team can be contacted at corpcomm@ayala.com.ph.
