Known for capturing beauty and stillness in the everyday, Denise Weldon’s Spaces 4 and 5 are part of an exhibition entitled, In the Quiet Spaces: An Invitation. Featured here are layers of window and curtain, light and shadow that beckon a discovery inwards, of that which we call ours and that which belongs to the rest of the world.
In her statement, the artist shares, “The images here are an invitation to bring one within, to surrender to time, create memories that move from flounder to flourish. They ask that we flip switches and mind frames and allow for fresh perspectives for a new awareness of being.” She reminds viewers to take time for themselves for, “in the quiet spaces we hear our souls best.”
