For five consecutive years, flagship school Mapúa University has been recognized as an institution for people and the planet by the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, a global evaluation of universities based on their alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This year, Mapúa secured its spot in the 801-1000 bracket, ranking in all 17 SDGs and excelling in four goals, namely SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna debuted in the list at 1,501+ out of 2,152 institutions. It achieved its best scores in SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), as well as SDGs 6 and 12. Meanwhile, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao once again appears in the rankings at 1,001+ in SDG 5 and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and 1,501 in SDG 17.
The Mapúa group also secured top rankings in the recently announced World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI). WURI spotlights higher education institutions that excel at contributing to industry and society, with emphasis on innovative education, research, and engagement to society. Mapúa University ranked 39th in Industrial Applications for its USHER Technologies, and 95th in Social Responsibility for its Dunong Lingkod Program. Out of more than the 1,000 schools, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna ranked 84th in Leadership and 91st in Student and Support Engagement. Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao’s global competitiveness shone as well with its inclusion in Student Support and Engagement (82nd), Symbol (54th), and Culture/Values (82nd).
