Shaping the Global Discourse on Digital Transformation

Globe’s senior leaders participated in various high-level discussions at the the Mobile World Congress 2025 held on March 3 to 6 in Barcelona. Led by president and CEO Ernest Cu and deputy CEO Carl Cruz, the Globe executives shared how the company drives innovation through solutions relevant to emerging markets like the Philippines. MWC is the world’s premier ICT event, uniting the industry for the advancement of business and society.

Cu represented Globe in signing a memorandum of understanding with other Philippine telco operators on the deployment of federated CAMARA APIs under GSMA’s Open Gateway initiative. The initiative seeks to improve security measures against fraud; make it easier for businesses to provide digital solutions across telco networks; and help grow fintech, e-commerce, and other digital services by ensuring wider reach and smoother integration.

Cu also participated in his first GSMA Board Meeting and spoke about Globe’s best practices in combating digital scams and fraud. Meanwhile, during the GTI Summit 2025, Cruz shared insightful perspectives on the impact of 5G-A×AI, or the integration of 5G-Advanced and artificial intelligence, on the future of connectivity.

Over at the GSMA SEC CON 2025, Globe Chief Privacy Officer and VP for Governance, Risk, and Compliance Atty. Irish Salandanan-Almeida outlined the company’s proactive measures to address digital scams and fraud.

The company's chief information security officer and chief AI officer Anton Bonifacio and chief commercial officer Darius Delgado also took part in multiple side events, including the Amdocs podcast, while chief transformation and operations officer Rebecca Eclipse delivered a talk on “Transforming Operating Model Towards Becoming the Most Reliable Service Provider." Globe also participated in the GSMA MOU signing ceremony, strengthening collaboration with global industry players to promote AI and cybersecurity.
