CREATE VALUE TOGETHER
Nation building through financial education
Bank of the Philippines Islands, through its social development arm, BPI Foundation, and the National Teachers College have partnered to roll out programs empowering students, educators, and communities and to promote nation building through education, financial literacy, and social development.
The partnership aligns closely with both institutions’ missions to foster inclusive growth and provide sustainable solutions that benefit society at large.
At the heart of this engagement is BPI Foundation’s flagship initiative, FinEd Unboxed, a financial education program that equips participants from various sectors with essential financial literacy skills. FinEd Unboxed will be integrated into NTC’s curriculum and community engagement efforts, contributing to the development of financially savvy future educators and community leaders.
NTC President Alfredo Antonio I. Ayala emphasized the transformative power of the joint effort. “At NTC, we believe that education is the great equalizer," he said. "By working with BPI Foundation, we are not only enriching the learning journey of our students but also creating a ripple effect of financial empowerment in our partner communities."
NTC's partnership with BPI Foundation is expected to benefit over 11,000 individuals, including students, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and its adopted communities. Established in 1928 as the first private college in the Philippines to offer education courses, NTC became a part of Ayala's education portfolio in 2018. It is under iPeople, the listed holding company for investments in education alongside the Yuchengco Group of Companies which also include Mapúa University and its subsidiaries, University of Nueva Caceres, and APEC Schools.
