Ayala Land President and CEO Anna Ma. Margarita "Meean" Dy and GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon have been recognized among the most powerful women leaders in Asia by Fortune magazine.
Ayala Wins Inaugural Investing in Women LP Award
Ayala Corporation has been named the top corporate investor at the first-ever Investing in Women LP Award 2024. Ayala was cited among three limited partners in Southeast Asia that are leading the way with gender diverse teams.
The award is supported by Investing in Women, an Australian government initiative to catalyze inclusive growth through women’s economic empowerment, as well as consulting firm Propelevate and leading data and insights provider Preqin. Other winners in their categories were Siam Commercial Bank and Malaysia's Employees Provident Fund.
Kickstart Legal and Compliance Director Jecky Pelaez received the award on behalf of Ayala on September 18 in Singapore.
GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon and Ayala Land President and CEO Anna Ma. Margarita “Meean” Dy have been named two of the Most Powerful Women in Asia.
The list, presented by Fortune magazine, honors women leaders who transform companies, disrupt industries, and drive growth, innovation, and business excellence while helping inspire positive change and the next generation of leaders. Sazon and Dy ranked 38th and 73rd, respectively.
Sazon took the helm of GCash at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and has championed customer centricity, transforming GCash into a vital lifeline for many Filipinos. Under her leadership, GCash has become the Philippines’ first and only $5 billion unicorn and has tripled its pre-pandemic user base to over 90 million Filipinos in 2023. With financial inclusion at its core, GCash continues to provide accessible and affordable financial services that help millions of Filipinos thrive every day.
Dy was appointed as president and CEO of Ayala Land in October 2023, having previously served as its chief operating officer. She has been a member of the company's management committee since 2008, leading the residential business and mall groups. Her inclusion in the Fortune list is a testament to her outstanding leadership and the transformative impact she has had on Ayala Land and the Philippine real estate industry.
In a statement, the company hailed this recognition not only as honoring her individual achievements, but also a reflection of "Ayala Land's belief in the power of diverse leadership." Dy was also the sole Filipino included in Forbes’ “Asia’s Power Businesswomen” list in 2023.
