Dizon is ING-FINEX CFO of the Year
Powered by a pioneering, strategic mindset in corporate management and commitment to excellence in financial leadership, ACEN Chief Finance Officer Cora Dizon has been conferred with the 2023 ING-FINEX CFO of the Year Award.
Since joining ACEN in 2016, Dizon has brought the company to new heights through strategic finance initiatives. With more than 35 years of industry experience in the real estate and energy sectors, she enabled ACEN’s phenomenal growth trajectory wherein its renewables business expanded over 70-fold to reach 4,500 MW of capacity across the Asia Pacific. Dizon excels in her key finance roles as strategist, operator, catalyst and steward, which serve as the four core criteria of the longest-running and most prestigious annual award that recognizes the country’s top finance leaders.
“The ING-FINEX CFO of the Year Award ranks first among my career accomplishments,” says Dizon, who describes the honor as a “once-in-a-lifetime recognition.”
Dizon’s dynamic financial management and leadership style has played a dominant role in ACEN’s remarkable transformation. In the past decade, ACEN has evolved from a startup investment company for the Ayala group’s power sector interests into a core value driver of the conglomerate’s portfolio, reaching a peak market capitalization of US$10 billion. The multi-awarded energy company is now one of the Philippines’ largest renewable energy developers, with 98 percent of its capacity coming from renewable sources.
In 2022, Dizon led the charge in ACEN‘s completion of the world’s first market-based Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) financing, which was recently named the Asia Pacific Emerging Energy Deal of the Year by global publication Proximo.
Dizon is the 17th ING-FINEX CFO of the Year and the fourth woman to win the award. She is also the seventh Ayala group executive to receive the distinction after Delfin Gonzalez Jr. of Globe (2007); Sherisa Nuesa and Luis Juan Oreta of Manila Water (2008 and 2015, respectively); Jaime Ysmael and Augusto Bengzon of Ayala Land (2011 and 2019, respectively); and Jose Teodoro Limcaoco of Ayala Corporation (2017).
