Telling the Exciting Journey to Ayala’s 200th Year
With greater collaboration among business units, focus on consumer driven sectors, and acceptance of the challenge to deliver business results and positive impact, Ayala Corporation is excited to reach its second centennial as a better company that builds businesses that enable people to thrive.
These messages were relayed by Ayala Chief Sustainability and Risk Officer Jaime Urquijo and ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala during the conglomerate’s annual media thanksgiving party where they presented an exciting vision of Ayala’s journey to its 200th anniversary in 2034.
“There is a very good chance that the whole economy will double in size in the next 10 years. That’s mind-blowing to consider and it will unlock a lot of opportunities. We’re very excited to play our part to help the country in this journey and we are very bullish about that,” Urquijo said.
“What an exciting period ahead of us,” said Zobel de Ayala. “It’s about a decade of execution on the planning that we’ve had. We’re excited to fulfill the potential of the Ayala brand and what the institution means to a variety of different stakeholders. We’ve got the tools to deliver on that proposition.”
The fireside chat was the highlight of the sports-themed media event, which also allowed the next generation leaders to share their lesser known side as rugby players while they spoke about synergy, transformation, and sustainability influencing the group’s future.
Ayala’s extraordinary 190th year milestone was positively reported by Philippine media throughout 2024. The activity was organized to express the company’s appreciation of the media and to encourage continued collaboration with them as important and long-time partners in shaping Ayala’s reputation.
Media personality Boom Gonzalez moderates the fireside chat with Ayala Chief Sustainability and Risk Officer Jaime Urquijo and ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala during the Ayala group’s media thanksgiving party themed, “The Real Score”, held on February 26 at SPACE at One Ayala.
Ayala Head of Strategic Communications Gino Borromeo underscores the company’s enduring partnership with the Philippine media by showing a 1934 clipping from the Manila Daily Bulletin on its first centennial; “There will be many more important Ayala stories ahead, and we look forward to telling these stories together with you,” he said.
