Ayala Data and Analytics Community Launches Portal

The growing network of practicing and aspiring data professionals in the Ayala group now have an online platform to stay "updated, connected, and engaged with all things data."

The Ayala Data and Analytics Community of Practice (ADA COP) launched its website in September, almost a year since the group was introduced at Spark*10: Ayala Group Innovation Summit. The community portal—ada.weareayala.com—is designed to be a space for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and networking. Access is via the WeAreAyala passport.

The 2nd ADA Bytes held on September 26, gathered members of the Ayala Data and Analytics Community of Practice (ADA COP) for a knowledge sharing event with data engineers from ACEN and Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc. (IMI). The resource persons spoke about specific applications of data analytics and artificial intelligence in their respective companies.

Analytics Engineer JC Quintos shared ACEN's data evolution with Snowflake and AI. Meanwhile, IMI Data Engineers DJ Baclay and Llyod Patiag talked about implementing data analytics in discrete manufacturing, including problems and solutions, processes and roadmap, and goals. Aside from discussing technical aspects, the speakers shared how their companies are addressing data silos, inefficiencies, inconsistencies, and cost considerations, among others.

"Each of these topics is highly relevant to our ongoing journey towards data maturity and excellence within the Ayala group," said Ayala Corporation Data Strategy and Governance Head Warner Brian Tan. "By fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge exchange, we can, hopefully, drive our organizations towards greater data maturity and innovation."

The recent ADA Bytes session, organized in partnership with Ayala University, was a follow-up to the knowledge sharing event in February, with resource persons from BPI, Globe, and GCash who spoke on data governance, hyper-personalization using machine learning, and data ethics. AC Analytics has also relaunched its ADA Peers training program with courses on data visualization, storytelling, and dashboarding with Power BI; data literacy and reporting for digital transformation; introduction to data science and analytics; Python; and getting started with machine learning and data warehousing.
