BPI’s Hidden Wealthy Program, Agency Banking, and Customer Delight Program teams celebrate the bank’s unprecedented victory at the 8th Ayala Innovation Excellence Awards held during Spark*10: The Ayala Group Innovation Summit on November 21.

Bank of the Philippine Islands made history at the 8th Ayala Innovation Excellence Awards (AIXA) held during the Ayala Group Innovation Summit on November 21. The bank won all three top awards and two special recognitions in the annual awards program celebrating best-in-class innovation among Ayala companies.

First to win an Innovation Excellence Award was BPI’s Hidden Wealthy Program, which redefined measures of affluence among its customers and expanded its banking services to those who were underserved. The program brought in 18,000 new Preferred clients. Said BPI Head of Consumer Banking Ginbee Go, “Hidden Wealthy is really a testament that to us, our clients are at the core really of why we do what we do.”

BPI Agency Banking was next to be given an Innovation Excellence Award and the Special Recognition for Ecosystem Collaboration. Seeking to make banking products and services accessible to more Filipinos, the newly formed BPI unit addressed issues of convenience and availability, first by establishing the BPI Flagship Store in e-commerce platform Lazada, then partnering with 1,480 retail stores nationwide. On receiving the award, BPI Agency Banking Head Rally Jereza said, “Agency banking is all about collaboration and we could not have done it without the overall atmosphere in BPI, which is, we are not afraid to test, we are not afraid to learn, but most importantly, we are not afraid to fail.”

The innovation culture in BPI is alive and well. And we continue to uphold our commitment to the Ayala group to collaborate and really level up our synergy so that we can deliver market-creating innovations.

The final Innovation Excellence Award and the Special Recognition for Customer Centricity was given to BPI’s Customer Delight Program. Dedicating the award to Unibankers, BPI Chief HR Officer Gina Eala said, “This is really a testament of who we are and what we can do as an organization. The Customer Delight Program was an enabler of the organization to make its journey towards customer obsession.”

BPI is the first company to win all prizes at the AIXA, and is now the most-awarded company in the Ayala group.
