HR Advisory
Volcanic Smog Alert
Dear All,
We would like to remind everyone of our general guideline in the event of calamity (e.g. severe weather, flooding conditions, volcanic eruption, etc.). When such events happen, you do not need to wait for a Company advisory (email, text, crisis communication tree) before making your decision or assessing the safety and feasibility of reporting to work or meetings. We encourage everyone to proactively assess your personal situation and safety conditions. Based on this, please proceed to align/notify your immediate supervisor as soon as practicable on your working arrangements for the day that will best address your personal situation – you can either Work from Home (WFH), leave early/come late or take an emergency leave. You may wish to postpone your scheduled meetings in light of the current situation.
The Company will continue to regularly monitor the on-going Ashfall and Volcanic Activity and trigger Crisis Communication whenever necessary. Always keep in mind that Employees’ Welfare and Safety is the Company’s primary concern. This will continue to be the general guideline we should all practice during situations like this.
Phivolcs advised communities affected by the volcanic smog to do the following:
- Stay indoors
- Shut doors and windows to block out vog
- Wear face masks, ideally N95
- Drink plenty of water to reduce throat irritation or constriction
- Seek help from a doctor if needed, especially if serious effects are experienced
Should you need immediate assistance, please call 0917 820 9831.
Stay Safe!
